The State of the Industry Podcast brings together the fitness industry's top innovators and influencers to discuss emerging trends in movement (state-of-the-art technologies, advanced movement/training techniques, performance nutrition, future trends, etc.). The problem for most is not information overload, it is filter failure, so we ask the questions most never knew to ask, providing practical information listeners can apply right away. In this episode, I discuss five of the biggest lessons I've learned over my career as a Rehabilitation and Strength and Conditioning Specialist. The list is actually rather large, so there will be a follow up to this in the future, but for now, these were the first five that popped into my head.
Now please note, none of the statements I make are meant to offend anyone, so I apologize in advance if they do. They are simply meant to get you thinking a bit differently and reevaluate your process and what you think you know. Agree or disagree, that is up to you.

In this episode I have my close friend Michael Cunico calling all the way from Australia. Michael is the National Fitness Manager for Fitness First Australia. In this role he develops fitness products and programming throughout Fitness First clubs both here in Australia and abroad. He has overseen the development of thousands of personal trainers through his involvement with Fitness First’s induction and development programs.
During our conversation Michael provides some much needed optimism regarding the state of the fitness industry moving forward after the global COVID-19 pandemic. Australia has seen some strong numbers since re-opening in mid-June and Mick has some thoughts as to why and how personal trainers can take benefit from the situation. Michael also discusses the influx of technology into the fitness industry and what the future might look like in the next 10 years.
